Heart Disease in Men
Risk Factors of heart disease include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, obesity, and excessive alcohol use. Sometimes heart disease may not be diagnosed until a man experiences symptoms of a heart attack. These symptoms may include chest pain or discomfort, neck pain, heartburn, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, and shortness of breath. If you think you may be experiencing a heart attack, visit your nearest emergency room or call 911 IMMEDIATELY
Depression in Men
Picture
Men are generally less likely to seek help when living with depression. Feeling depressed is nothing to be ashamed of. Symptoms of depression include feeling sad or anxious, not wanting to do activities you used to enjoy, restlessness, eating more or having no appetite, feeling guilty, trouble concentrating, and/or having thoughts of harming yourself. If you think you may be suffering from depression, you should seek medical help immediately.
Testicular Cancer
Prostate Cancer
Roughly 1 in 250 males will develop testicular cancer. Symptoms include a lump on the testicle or a swollen or larger than normal testicle. Some testicular cancers might not cause any symptoms until it has reached an advanced stage.
Men should perform self-examinations to search for any lumps.
Approximately 30,000 men die each year from prostate cancer
Symptoms are not always present. Some symptoms of prostate cancer may include difficulty urinating, frequent urination, pain or burning during urination, blood in the urine or semen, and/or pain in the back, hips, or pelvis that does not go away.
A blood test (PSA test) can measure the level of PSA in the blood. PSA levels can be higher in men who have prostate cancer.

Heat Stroke

Southern temperatures can rise ABOVE 100 degrees!
You may think this is a great day out on the water or at the beach, but unless you are being careful, you could experience heat stroke.
Heatstroke can result in PERMANENT damage.

Signs/symptoms of heat stroke include hot, red, or DRY skin; fast pulse; headache; dizziness; nausea; confusion; &/or passing out.
If you notice anyone with any of these symptoms, you should FIRST call 911! Next, you should move the person to a cooler place & cool them off with a cool damp cloth.

Skin Cancer
Picture
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., as well as being one of the most preventable.
Wear sunscreen DAILY! Coverup with clothing! Get in the shade! Avoid tanning beds! DON’T let yourself burn! Stay hydrated!
Remember, children are more sensitive to the sun.
Take note of any new moles or growths, and any existing growths that begin to grow or change significantly in any other way. Lesions that change, itch, bleed, or don't heal are also alarm signals.

If you find anything suspicious you should seek medical advice from your doctor immediately

Botox
Botox temporarily relaxes the muscles of the face to reduce frown lines and wrinkles. Treatment generally last three to four months. Juvederm was designed to treat the facial folds and loss of volume that occurs naturally with age. Treatment can last up to a year.
