Roughly 21,000 women get ovarian cancer every year. In women aged 35-74 it is 5th in all cancer deaths.

Symptoms may include pelvic pain, frequent urination, bloating and difficulty eating.
There is ongoing research on the detection of ovarian cancer.
If you show any signs or symptoms, your testing options include a pelvic exam, transvaginal ultrasound, or a blood test.
Regular pap-smears look for cervical cancer, not ovarian cancer.

We are now pre-registering for flu vaccines.

If you want to receive your yearly flu vaccine, please call our office now.

We will put your name on a list and call you when they come in.

#BeThe1To

ASK  if they are thinking about harming themselves.
BE THERE in any way you can. Make sure you follow through on your promises. Do not commit to something that you cannot see through.
KEEP THEM SAFE from harming themselves. Have they tried to harm themselves already? Do they have a plan? How long have they been feeling this way? ASK THE QUESTIONS TO KEEP THEM SAFE.
HELP THEM CONNECT with a professional.  Are there any mental health professionals in your area? Have they called the 1-800-273-TALK help line?
FOLLOW UP
Be sure to follow up regularly. Even after connecting them to the appropriate specialist.

Cholesterol Education

Your body needs SOME cholesterol to work properly. Having too much cholesterol in your blood puts you at risk for coronary artery disease, heart attack, or a stroke.

  • Exercise regularly
  • LIMIT YOUR SALT INTAKE
  • Saturated fat is a bad fat; it raises your LDL level. This is found in some meats, dairy products, chocolate, baked goods, and deep-fried & processed foods.
  • Trans fat is another bad fat found in fried foods, baked goods, frozen pizzas, stick margarine & other spreads.
  • Try healthier fats, such as lean meat, nuts, and unsaturated oils like canola, olive, and safflower oils.
  • Eat plenty of fiber. These foods include oatmeal and oat bran, fruits, kidney beans, lentils, chick peas, black-eyed peas, and lima beans.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the second most common in cancer deaths among men in the U.S.

In order to lower your risk you should
  • Eat plenty of fruits and veggies
  • Eat less red meat
  • Decrease fat intake
  • Tell your doctor about supplements you take that can decrease PSA levels
  • EXERCISE REGULARLY

Symptoms of prostate cancer may include burning or difficulty when urinating, difficulty holding back urination, frequent urge to pee, blood in urine or semen, pain in lower back, pelvis, or hips or difficulty having an erection.

        Antibody Therapy

Antibody therapy is a series of 4 injections which are given to help reduce your risk of developing severe COVID illness. You will receive all injections at the same time.

In order to receive antibody therapy you must have a positive COVID test and at least one diagnosis placing you at high-risk for severe COVID illness. Some of these diagnoses include, obesity; chronic kidney disease; diabetes; high blood pressure; pregnancy; and chronic lung disease.

If you need a test, please call our office first (337.527.6385) so we can schedule your appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, please call the clinic to notify them of what car you are in and where you are parked. A nurse will meet you at your vehicle.
