Sending our thoughts, prayers, love, and good vibes to the family members of the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives in Friday's attack at Kabul airport.
ASK if they are thinking about harming themselves.
BE THERE in any way you can. Make sure you follow through on your promises. Do not commit to something that you cannot see through.
KEEP THEM SAFE from harming themselves. Have they tried to harm themselves already? Do they have a plan? How long have they been feeling this way? ASK THE QUESTIONS TO KEEP THEM SAFE.
HELP THEM CONNECT with a professional. Are there any mental health professionals in your area? Have they called the 1-800-273-TALK help line?
Be sure to follow up regularly. Even after connecting them to the appropriate specialist.
Have you ever noticed how many times we talk about living a healthy lifestyle? How many times health professionals FIRST suggest a healthier diet and daily exercise?
Do you just keep scrolling past?
It is never too early or too late to start living a healthier lifestyle. High cholesterol? Stressed? Overweight? Diabetes? Depression? Regular exercise, healthy eating and focusing on your MENTAL health may help you overcome these.
You should also visit your PCP every year for your wellness exam.
